As we've seen throughout this unit, building plans use a wide range of symbol to represent different features. It's important that you learn to recognise the conventional symbols used in kitchen and bathroom drawings for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, you need to be able to read and understand the plans you're given for the on-site installations you carry out. Secondly, it's very handy when you're dashing off your own on-site sketches to be able to draw these simple icons. They're not only quick and easy to draw, they also have clear meaning to anyone else who might need to refer to your drawings.

Below is the floor plan for a bathroom. See if you can identify each of the symbols correctly. Click on the symbol and then click on its matching term.
