We talked briefly about the various trades involved in an installation in the unit: Processes in kitchen and bathroom projects.

Now we'll continue that discussion in relation to the tradespeople you may have to liaise with when you carry out the site assessment.

We'll also cover basic design principles, and in particular, the 'kitchen work triangle'.

Even if you're not directly involved in the initial design of the kitchen, it's good to have an understanding of these principles.

This allows you to see the reasoning behind the layout that has been used for the various cabinets, appliances and other features.

It also helps you to pick up any problems that might suddenly become obvious during installation that may not have been considered in the original design.

Finally, we'll look at how you can record information quickly and accurately on-site by doing a sketch of the floor plan and other views of the project.
