There's a wide range of specialised tools that go with the different trades discussed in this section. Sometimes the same basic tool is manufactured in different sizes and shapes, with features that cater for particular uses.

For example, all of the tools below are hammers. But each one is made to suit its own special purposes.

Do you know the names for all of these hammers? See if you can identify each one by clicking on the hammer and then clicking on the correct name. As you do so, try to name the trade or trades that use that type of hammer, and think about the reasons why it is designed like that.

If you're not sure why a particular hammer is a certain shape, ask your trainer or supervisor to explain its purpose to you.
