RPL checklist

Below is a summary of the main skills you must possess to meet the competency requirements for this unit. Tick the box beside each skill you believe that you are competent in.

You can print this page if you want to produce a hard copy to show your Registered Training Provider (RPL). Your trainer will be able to give you advice about any 'gap' training you may need.

Knowledge and skills you will need to provide evidence for:

Understanding of company safety policies and procedures

Ability to interpret drawings, specification and other documents correctly and produce a cutting list for the job

Ability to plan the sequence of work tasks and indentify the process and tools required

Ability to check that tools and equipment are in good working order

Understanding of the properties of all materials used in the cabinets and components, and the ability to choose appropriate construction techniques

Ability to manufacture cabinets and components that meet the specifications for the job, and check the quality of the work at regular stages

Ability to use tools and equipment safely and efficiently, in accordance with the company's safe operating procedures

Ability to clean up the work area when finished and dispose of rubbish in an approved way

Ability to complete documentation accurately and according to company requirements
